So today I treated myself to my first cyling jersey. I dropped $75 on a Bellweather jersey so I could stop always wearing just cotton t-shirts that end up soaked by the end of my ride. Mark asked me to join him for a ride to downtown Naperville to the Apple store. As we were unlocking our bikes, I noticed that my right pedal had snapped in one spot and is about to snap completely off. Then as we got a little more than a mile from home, I heard a hissing sound — like sss sssss sssssss — and thought I got something caught in one of my rims. I hit a bump, went all the way down to the rim, realized it was flat and got to walk the 1.25 miles home.

It just goes to show that when you splurge and treat yourself to a want you’re just going to have to turn around and spend even more on a need.
